Grunge Groove

A big Hello To All!!
A little grungy page to show, made with the Feb Boxx of Scraps Kit. Tried to do something different to the Heart LO done last post to show how versatile PP's can be for everyone.

Out for Publication
So Sorry
Will Be Back Soon!

I have kept to the kit supplies for the most part, except for the stamps and mists. Obviously I did not get dirty enough with my last page because I really got down & dirty for this one, misting and painting with no real idea in mind. I let loose, but I think I knew when to stop.... always hard for me to do!

Grunged the cut out circle and button by spraying and outlining roughly with a marker!

Stamped some flourishes, became obsessed with confetti placement yet again! Don't worry this too shall pass.... eventually!

Got at the frame with a scalpel just wanted a flourish! More confetti and circles!!!

The punched hearts put me in my happy place, then, after thinking forever for a title, had a go at the whole page with a fineliner!!!

I really like this one for some reason, maybe it is the colour combo or I just enjoyed being unrestrained???
Anyway stay Happy everyone,

The Boxx Feb Box of Scraps Kit

Just a quick share, this is the page I did with the Feb BOS kit from The Boxx:

Will be Back Soon

This was an awesome kit to work with, had a load of fun with it and did not have to add too much of my stash to create the LO.

I am still lovin' the confetti look, this time with hearts.

The cardboard buttons & stickers were included in the Kit, I just added the twine.

The Chippy Frame is from ScrapFX and was also in the Kit. I still have lots left over so will be doing another LO that I will post shortly!

Scrap The Boys March Challenge

Thought I would share my take on the Scrap The Boys Challenge for this month.
Firstly the requirements:
"LIFE IS GOOD"
Add a touch of RED
& lastly,
Handwritten Journalling.

So here is what I did:

SORRY

OUT FOR PUBLICATION

 WILL BE BACK SOON

Used "My Minds Eye Paper" mostly. Just fell hook line & sinker for all the new ranges, perfect for the geometric shapes that are so on trend right now.

The title is made up of 2 alphas from SCRAPFX, Lanky and Freestyle.

I was going with the chevron look because I just had to use my new Crafters workshop template.

Added grey touches because I love the soft effect it gives, the Paper is Kaiser and of coarse had to use some Washi Tape, cannot keep my hands off it!

Can't go past buttons and string to add texture, and some punched "confetti" to add some interest, (this actually took the longest time to do, wanted it to look like they were thrown onto the page). Recognize that awesome underline? Yes I have used it before it is from SCRAPFX too, I couldn't help it it just "worked"!!!!
So thanks for dropping by,

White With One March Challenge

My first take on a challenge for the year, finally had some time up my sleeve to do a challenge that really appealed! The March challenge over at White With One certainly ticked all my boxes!
The task was:
White + Kraft + Layers
I know.... so me, Kraft? Are you kidding me? Love using the stuff in any way shape or form...........
of coarse had to play!

So Sorry
 Will Be Back Soon!

The photo is of my niece in law, I guess you could say, and her Dad who loves her to bits! Thought this shot captured their relationship perfectly. They are so gonna hate me for saying that!

Having a girl in the shot gave me a chance to add some girlie touches with the butterflies (a new stamp from Kaiser that I could not resist). I loved using the Tim Holtz Kraft Resist Paper that I have been bonding with for so long...... time to start purging! Just sprayed it with some Mister Hueys love the white sooo good and added some "drippage"!

Sprayed the Graphic 45 kraft buttons also to give a softer blended feel!

Painted the chippie corner and title (another beauty form ScrapFX).

So there you go I have finally broken the ice for the year, off to give some others a crack!

Some Layouts to Share

Finally tore myself away from my art Journal and managed to get some Layouts done.
The first one, I did for the folks over at Sawyers Place using their spotty blue tape.....

Used Splatts from ScrapFX and a new funky underline flourish that I can see becoming a fave!
Just roughly painted them and sprayed some mist and left it to dry naturally.

Dusted off a very old alpha stamp set for the title and date.

Finished it off with a ScrapFX alpha and some twine to use the tape a little more.

Now my next one I did for the monthly Challenge in the Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. The challenge was to create without any Patterned Paper.... sounded very appealing so I gave it a shot and here it is:

Found this so much fun to do and succeeded in adding a bit of colour with no patterned paper in sight. Used some tape that really dictated the colour scheme. I tried to tie the chipboard in, by painting and spraying with Lindys Stamp Gang Mists for a vintage look.

Used some new ScrapFX flourishes that are just Awesome!!!!! Went so well with the good old mini retro flowers (a Fave, go to product). Also freestyle alphas to add to the funky feel!

The big texture on the page is made from a paper bag scrunched, die cut, sprayed and painted, yes I gave that the works!!!

So there you have it 2 layouts done I now have a hankering to do some more challenges for this month off to do a bit of a search!
Cheerio then,

More Playing

Hi all
Back again with some more journal pages, so loving having a play! Not really worrying about the end result so much, as the process of getting there. The biggest problem I seem to have ...... knowing when to stop!
Anyhooo here you go, was inspired by more tape from Sawyers place, so perfect for this type of thing!

This one looked really looked good before I started the lettering, should have stopped but ........ I'll learn
some day!
The black script tape is from Sawyers Place, just tore it up a little.

Also covered some card stock with the tape & punched out some hearts.

This one just got soooo out of hand. Got in a big mess here, but we all make mistakes, I just loved the process! Doesn't have to be pretty all the time does it?

Love how these pages just take no time at all (I don't seem to have too much of that precious commodity lately!).

So that is all for now, promised myself that I have to get back into doing some more LO's and maybe enter a few challenges along the way,
stay tuned,

A Quick Peek

Just a quick post to show what I have been playing around with lately, namely book paper. Just plain ordinary pages from an old book from the local Op Shop.
The photo was taken with my phone then "grunged" up using one of the apps.
So for a grungy photo I had to do a grungy page right? Loved doing this one; loads of paint play, got very messy at one stage.... loved it!!!

Did the whole grungy background thing using loads of paint stencils and stamps, did not have a plan at all.... can you tell?

Cut the arrow shapes and backed them with patterned paper to try and add some depth. The chippie bits are all from Scrap FX. To get the rustic, worn look I just did a rough uneven coat of paint then sprayed with a mist and leave to dry all "mottley" is that even a word?

For the heart (yes I tried my best to make it look like a heart shape) I just splashed paint around on torn book pages, then rolled them up and stuck 'em down squishing them together as I went. Then, to try and make it look like the shape, I then drew a heart on top very roughly. Cannot really see it in these photos though.

Did the same treatment on the title that I did on the embellishments using 2 different colours of paint.

Then the journalling with one of my favourite quotes: " We come to love not by finding a perfect person but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly." Finished it off by random doodling all over the place to high light bits and pieces.

So much fun to do, have I said that already?  Till next time,
Take care y'all,

ART JOURNAL PLAY

Been having a bit of a play with my art journal, so much fun! But I kid you not, some pages are just yuk! So I just turn the page and start another! I have accidently even stuck some pages together in my eagerness to start something else. So here they are some I am happy with others not so much!

This is a fave not for how it looks so much but rather for the fun I had with it, just a whole lot of doodling really and I just love the quote so true!

Just used a fineliner drew some crazy curves and played round a bit!

This one was a little bit of a stencil phase just got the fractured flower one and had to play!!!!

Lots of fiddly paper bits.

For this one played with tape and book paper to make the bits across the middle. Then stamps over the top.

Found some old stencil letters that were all the rage a few years back, finally found a use for them!

And finally to add some texture used a drizzle of PVA glue to make the circles and then sprayed with wild abandon!

So that is about it for me still got one on the go not too happy with it having a grammer issue, is outshone a word or is it outshined? Oh, by my spell check I have my answer. Will be back soon
after I correct that mistake... oops!
Thanks for looking!

Whoo Hoo .... Tape Trance!!!

Hey All,
Big news, I have been invited to be on the design team for Sawyers Place! Having a tape fetish right now how could I say no? So I thought I would share, not only my news, but also my first offerings made from their gorgeous tapes I was lucky enough to play with......

Both the card and the tag are made from the same roll of tape (the black and white script).

This card I quickly whipped up for my Mum's birthday so had to photograph it the moment it was dry so I did not have to ask for it back!

As you can see I am still into using up my scraps... they combine with the tape so well!

I also used the twig from ScrapFX it is so versatile I have used it to death, here I have chopped it a little to fit the card but did not waste a twig!!

This is the first time I have tried to be Pretty so bare with me! Can you see where I have used the tape?
I tried to think outside the box for something a little different...... yes the cage is all tape!

So easy to do to! First I just randomly stuck the tape on a tag going every which way so the the pattern was not uniform, overlapping bits until all the tag was covered. Then all I did was put it through the Big Shot with the cage die and it was done! Worked really well and I now have a tag with a negative cage shape to use later!

Did the same sort of thing with the bird but this time used book paper and ink! Then I had to search high and low for some flowers ( regulars readers would know I rarely use them, having 2 boys), coloured them and used some cool leaf ribbon for the leaves. And that my friends is as "Pretty" as I seem to get... I tried!
Thanks so much for stopping by hugs to all,
