Beachy Layout for Colour Blast

A big scrappy Hello to everyone!
I am back with a LO and a small step by step for you all using the fab products by Colour Blast.
So here is the next Beachy LO (yes another one!!! Sorry but that is our happy place, as you can see on my little fella's face.):

And now here is my process, (apologies in advance for the poor pics, I tend to create at night so shadows are an issue when I try to get the process shots, so just try to imagine the real colour LOL)
  • First I coated my page with a layer of clear Gesso. Once dry I randomly stamped about the page with Archival ink and a background stamp. A tip for random stamping....I never use a block as I do not want a perfect image. Tip 2 always use Archival or Stazon ink so it will not react with any wet mediums you put on top.

  • I taped up a stencil because I only wanted to use parts of it, I then spread a couple of pastes through the stencil.

  • Once the paste was dry I splashed some Shimmer sprays around to create the rest of my background. The colours I used are Bling, Steel and Deep Water.

  • While the background is drying, I embossed my chippies. The panel is embossed with a combination of Bling and Deep Water and the hash words are embossed with Bling.

  • I then worked on layering my paper scraps under my photo, stamped a sentiment, and embellished with a few enamel dots, and my page was complete!

Here are a few close ups of the finished page:

I hope you have been Inspired!

The Colour Blast Products and colours I used are:
Colour Pastes: Steel, Snow White & Bling
Shimmer Sprays: Bling, Steel & Deep Water
Embossing Powder: Deep Water & Bling
You can find all the Colour Blast Products right here!

Thanks for joining me here today!

Diva Project 2!

Time for reveal number 2, the second layout!
This one is of my eldest, Kodey:

Just love getting all grungy with the border punches around the edges of the page!
Used a bunch of stencils and stamps on the background with gesso, mists and sprays. Then clustered my chippies after hitting them with mica paints!

All the chippies are Scrap FX, used a lot of old favourites and just love that title!

When you add metal bits and pieces to chipboard it just .... well ....works!

And that is that, stay tuned for my final project for the Divas, an off the page creation!! Lots of fun doing that one!!

Design Diva!!!!

Hi All
Now that the news is well and truly out, that I have joined an overwhelmingly talented group of ladies as a Design Diva at Scrapbook Creations, over the next few days I thought I would show detailed shots of the projects that got me into this whirlwind of creativity!! (So to speak)

The first LO had to feature me...... made me a little uncomfortable to say the least:

As you can see I got down and dirty rather than deep and meaningful!!! Tried hard to hide the face .. LOL
To make the circles I used mist and home made stencils, (fancy name for a circle punched out of a scrap piece of cardboard) in varying sizes. Then I just doodled around them with my paint marker!

I used Scrap FX Paris Alphas for the title and threw some paint and ink on them. Trurhfully, I left this LO till the last minute, so had to really rush and get it done as the deadline loomed! As a result this is my least favourite of the 3 Diva entry projects.
I almost did not enter because of this requirement.... funny how little things really throw you, the photo of myself certainly did!!

Resorted to using old faithful embellishments, spinners and cogs, they just work for me, and paired with the scribble frame that I cut to fit it just suited the mess!

A few dimensional dots and words and I was closer to the finish line!

So that is the story of the first LO, it was definitely the toughest task!
Next I will show the "other" LO and then soon after the "off the page" task!
So do come by again soon,
hugs,

Once upon a Sketch September Challenge

Wow time flies! It certainly has been a while since my last post, but I am back for a quick show of my take on this months sketch over at
Here is the awesome sketch that really caught my eye:

The theme was "LUCKY" so I instantly thought of my nieces and the wonderful summer they are having while we shiver away in the southern hemisphere!
So without further rambling here is my take on that challenge:

Really got into girly mode with this one using my watercolours and a Crafters Workshop stencil to create the background. And with a little help by the embossing powder I managed to create some texture.

I have used some favourite chipboard pieces from Scrap FX coloured with ink pads and a touch of embossing powder to tie the elements together.
So that is it for that challenge on to the next one!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
