Live Fully...Art Journal Page for Scrapping Clearly.

Hey All!
I am back with another art Journal page, created with loads of goodies from the Scrapping Clearly store.
So without further ado here it is:

"Live Fully"

This is an Art Journal page done in my 8x8 Dylusions Journal. On a "Gessoed" page I used Scribble Sticks to create the circle in various colours from blue/greens to yellow/pink, I then added loads of water to activate the colour and move it around for a smooth blend. I added a little shimmer with Nuvo Mica Mists in Fresh Pear and Nebula Blue.

Once dry, I added the stamped face (on Tissue paper) to the circle with Gel Medium, then used The Crafters Workshop Stencil "Rose Bouquet" and Dina Wakley Acrylic Paint in Fuchsia and Magenta to create some flowers around the face.

Once this was all dry I added details with paint pens, a Stabilo Pencil and more scribble sticks (particularly to the face). I still felt it needed something more so I went a little crazy with the Inkadinkado Cling stamps: "Ferns" to add some foliage to the flowers.

I then stamped the Title with my trusty Alpha stamps from years gone by and I called the page done!

Items used:
Inkadinkado Cling stamps "Ferns"
Gesso
Alpha Stamps
Black Archival stamp pad
Gold, White & Black Paint Pen
Stabilo Pencil

And that is all from me this Friday.....hope I have inspired and you all find a little time in your day this weekend to play!
Till next week!
Michelle.

Art Journal Page for the April "13 arts challenge".

Whoo Hoo I did a challenge!!!
First one in a long long time! I chose the latest challenge by 13 arts for this month....a mood board and look at that fab colour scheme!
You can see the details here if you want to join in.

I do not have many 13 arts products but the ones I do have did suit the challenge. So off I went on a creative journey with limited supplies...a challenge indeed!

I was inspired not only by the colour scheme but also the fab flower.
Here is my project an art journal page full of grungy flowers.

The 13arts products I used are:

Ayeeda Mists: Pastel Coral, Chalk Yellow Amber, Chalk Grey, Pearl Old Gold.
Ayeeda Paint: Red Caffeine
Word Stickers: Vintage Moments

Thanks for popping by, and if you get a chance, why not head over and create a little something for this fab challenge?
Happy creating Everyone!

Dance....an art Journal Page for Scrap FX.

Hi everyone it’s Michelle back to share an art journal page I created using the fabulous new
Dramatic Dancer Stencil from Scrap FX as the main focus of the page.

Isn’t she just so fabulous??
I just love how “Arty” she is, it makes my page look so cool, but the technique is so basic!
I also used the Fancy Feather Stamps in the background to add movement.

So here is the page:
I wanted the page to look like she was creating a rainbow of colour till she moved into the drama of the darkest colour, really like how it turned out!
I started with a gessoed background and laid down the Paynes Grey Acrylic paint to start with. Then used the stamp in the wet paint to create feather images across the 2 pages.
Then once that was dry I added the bright lighter colours using watercolours as I wanted lots of drippy goodness.

I sprayed some Marabu Art spray in gold across the page and through the Flower Pattern Stencil (small), adding splashes as I went.
I stamped some script with a stamp and Stazon ink.

Now time for the Dancer! I mixed Gold Metallic Acrylic Paint with some Impasto Medium to give it some body, then applied it through the stencil.

I stamped the Quote on to some tissue paper then added it to the page with Matt Medium.

The page is now complete!

Hope you enjoyed my little project and found some inspiration!
Thanks for visiting and please do come on back now!!

Itac17 Challenge 4.

Whoo Hoo I am back with another quick share!
This time I have done something a little different due to the nature of the challenge. This time it is the 4th Challenge "Africa".
So here are the challenge prompts, I did not get all of them included but I had a red hot crack, and think I only missed the charms or pearls.

  • Warm, bright colors
  • Repeated ethnic patterns
  • Charms, pearls, metallic wire…
  • Words or text
  • Textures, cracks, rust effect...
So with out further ramblings, here is my take, I channelled my inner Spirit warrior!

I had just so many ideas for this one it really did go through a lot of ugly transformations, but I am pretty happy with my first mask painting in my art journal.

A few more details:
(nothing much to it really, just a whole heap of paint layers)

And that is me done for another day!
Still got 2 more of the challenges to do and am running out of a little mojo.... and time!
Hopefully will see you all sooner rather than later!

Aall and Create ITAC 17 Challenge 1 and 2

Hey everyone just popping in to share what I have been up to (other than my obsession with the Mini Booklets!).
I have been inspired to have a go at the International Tournament of Art And Craft Challenges over at Aall And Create. The prompts are Here if you wish to have a go yourself, there is loads of fabulous inspiration to be had so do check it out!
I am a little behind but I have done the first 2 challenges so far and here the are:
First Challenge: "Europe"
The requirements are to use at least one of the following:
  • A face
  • Papers (newspaper, printed paper, rice paper…etc.)
  • Letters, numbers
  • Blue for the colour of the European Union, Union Jack...
  • Ribbon, twine, string or lace…
  • Textures – take inspiration from history from ancient civilisations to the fall of the Berlin Wall
  • Something both vintage and modern

And I think I have used them all!!

Some close ups:

I got to use a new  masculine stencil by Scrap FX, loved using this one!

Now for the second challenge: "Asia"
The requirements:

  Motifs inspired by mandalas
· Geometric shapes
· Tiles - ceramic, pantiles, glazed tiles, or their designs...
· Asiatic flowers, such as cherry blossom, chrysanthemum, orchids, lotus, Frangipani, lilies, hibiscus etc..
· Calligraphy or handwriting
· Fabric, faded or dyed
· Powdered pigments
And inspiration from a gorgeous pic.
So here is my take, a little more feminine this time!

A couple of closer shots.
I think I have gone to town on the requirements again and used them all except the fabric!

So why not head over and take a peek, you never know, you too could be inspired!
Until next time,

Michelle

Art Journal Page for Artified

Hey everyone,
I am back with a journal page created for Artified.
I had a little play with the new Acrylic Art Sprays by Marabu.
These little bottles of colour are just awesome, so bright, beautiful and permanent!

These sprays are permanent when dry, they will not reactivate like other water soluble sprays like Dylusions. They are a flat colour spray so they can be used in combination with other shimmery mists  to create beautiful effects, I am going to play a little more with them to really discover how well that permanent property can work.
Here is the page that evolved from that play:

If you are interested you can see a step by step how I created the page HERE on the Artified Blog.

Do try and get your hands on some of these babies they are a heap of fun, and combine really well with all the other sprays in your stash. When I went in to grab these they were flying off the shelves!
Till next time, keep happy!

Newbies by Scrap FX!

Oh my how the year is flying by!
It’s May already Arghhh!
I think the older I get the faster time flies! Is this because I am having more fun????
Well fun was definitely on the cards when I got my hands on the new products from Scrap FX!
The stencils and the stamps really made me break out in a happy dance!
So enough chit chat here are my Art Journal pages I created and the gorgeous FX Products I used.
Take a look at these gorgeous stamps, those “Lace stamps” just look fabulous, and the “She Stamp” well that speaks for itself!

The new stencil is just awesome, had a great play with this one Liz And Sue (which comes in 2 sizes).
The new  silhouette stencils come with the both the positive and negative images.....told you they are awesome!!!

I cut out the silhouette out of scrap paper that I have beside me on my desk that I use as a paint palette and to clean my stamps.

I used that lace stamp on the background in several spots.

Then these two, what I like to call “disco” chicks are the Modern Girl Stencil.
Here I bonded with my fave “disco chick”!!

Newbies used: Modern Girl Stencil and She Phrase (Black)
The phrase is a black lazer cut piece.
She phrase BLACK
In my excitement I have glued it on a little wonky ..... but hey it kinda suits the look!

I used the mask this time with a little black paint applied with a sponge to reveal the silhouette shape.

And the awesome stencils continue with the fabulous “Felicity” Stencil.

I love how the stencil makes it look like I can draw!!
