"At the End of the Day...." Art Journal Page.

Hello everyone I it's my turn over on the Colour Blast Blog again.
Another art Journal Page.
So without further ado here it is:

This project was a little difficult to photograph as it is full of glorious shimmer from the sprays, you will just have to take my word for it!
The background is made using old book paper and a printed paper serviette.
I then used Impasto and a stencil to create the texture that worked like a resist.
Impasto dries clear and has a shine to it when dry so I wanted to see how the sprays reacted with it.
The Shimmer Spray I used was "Bling" and also "Steel" for a contrast. I loved how the Bling worked with the texture!

As you can see the shimmer collected in the texture to give it dimension and make a lovely soft background.

The phrase was created by using the coordinating Colour Paste in Bling, once dry I added shadows to make it jump out a little more.

A very simple page full of shimmer!
The Colour Blast products I used were:

"BLING" Shimmer Spray and Colour Paste

"STEEL" Shimmer Spray

Lastly you can get your Colour Blast products HERE !
I hope you have been inspired!
Till next time thanks for dropping by!

"She Blooms!" Art Journal Page.

Hi Everyone I am back with an Art Journal page to share!
Have you got your hands on any Colour Blast goodies yet? If not, well maybe I can inspire you to get out there and grab some!
So I have been playing with the Colour Pastes and Sprays to create my Blooming Girl.
So here she is......

I used the sprays in Dusty Charcoal and Steel through a couple of stencils...... really just sprayed around randomly to give my acrylic splashes a little shimmer!

I then stamped my girl, a Donna Downey Stamp with Stazon ink, drew her some shoulders and gave her some shadows to make her "pop".

I then grabbed some colour paste in Rose Petal and applied it through a stencil to give my girl a flowery dimensional crown. This gave the page some shimmery goodness as well as adding some amazing texture!
I did not waste any paste (hate to do that) as I flipped the stencil to add some more flowers into the background as well to tie it all together.

After the paste had dried I then added some highlights with a white Paint Pen by Sharpie and to my delight I found that the pen glided onto the paste beautifully and stayed put!!!!
I added some scripty scribble and my page was done!
Here are the Colour Blast products I used:
Dusty Charcoal Shimmer Spray

Rose Petal Colour Paste

And here is where you can get your hands on them:
I love how she turned out, moody but girly, what do you think??
I hope I have inspired and thanks so much for for dropping by!

Scrap FX Stencil Play.

So I have a confession to make....I have been obsessed with faces lately!
Scrap FX must have read my mind this month because the stencils they released just fuel this need to get faces on pages!
Take a look:
The first one I played with was the "Demure Face".
Demure Face stencil
Just loved this one because you can add your own scrawls to it or leave it as it comes:

I just added a little hair and more definition to the nose and neck.

This one has a bit more hair, totally changes the look! I also used some Colour Blast Colour Paste through the stencil, can't really see it too much here, you are just going to have to take my word for it!
The next Stencil is just so fun and a little funky!

Teen Girl stencil

Now you can see the Colour Paste that I used through the stencil!
The last stencil I have been messing with is this one:

Melted Mesh stencil
"Melted Mesh"
I used it here on this journal page with some crackle paste.

So that is me just about up to date with my creations!
Stay tuned later in the week for more!

New for Scrap FX.

March is here already, can you believe it? Really hate how time just flies! I need a few more hours in the day......to play!
I have been having a little fun playing with Scrap FX goodies lately, take a peek at these:
Space Invader funky, retro bits, that really had to have a neon treatment!
Space Invaders
Here are a few cards for the little fella's!

I used a couple of older FX chippies in the background, the invaders needed some direction!!!

All the chippies are treated with  embossing powders, I really wanted those invaders to pop!
These ones are on a couple of Hash Bits.

The Circuitry Panel worked perfectly on this one.

Last one has the Nodules panel as the background.

Next I have a LO using these new FX pieces:
#boystuffWhich Way Out?
Banterwm

This page features my eldest on his way to his last school formal, scrubs up ok!

The chippies I treated with Colour Blast Embossing Powders.

Most of the papers are from 7 Dots "Destination Unknown" Line. Finally used them after bonding with them for far too long!

Love how a combination powders worked on this chippy!

Those hash words are just perfect for a teen layout, love 'em!

So that is the first few projects I have done for the month, stay tuned got more a coming, I have been playing with just awesome face stencils that even make my drawing skills look good!
Back Soon!
