"Wild & Free"

So much to catch up on! I am sharing a canvas that I created last month for Scrap FX.
I was inspired by the Primitive Heart chippy and instantly knew what I wanted to do with it, create a canvas!

This is actually a canvas within a canvas, I used the back of the canvases to create a Shallow shadow box effect.

I added loads of texture using Dry wall tape, crackle paste by Viva Decor (my Fave!) as well as glass micro beads.

The heart and mini Alphas are embossed with Stampendous enamel to make it look like they are made of twigs (well I tried).

The colour is Lindys Stamp Gang Sprays and acrylic paint by Golden.
My Blue bird is painted with Metallic Paint by Viva Decor and I added a little texture by adding a little heavy Gesso.

I used a few metal bits and pieces I had in my stash, threw some paint around and the job was done!
Thanks for dropping by and do come again!
As always comments are treasured so thanks if you decide to leave me one!

I Love Making Canvases Again!!!

After a bit of a spell, I have started making canvases again! I had a load of messy fun making these 3, using some of the latest releases by Scrap FX ands a load of paint, sprays and embossing powder..
On the middle canvas I used the new Chicken Wire Heart and the side ones I used the smaller Steampunk Heart.
Here they are raw:

And here are all three canvases together:

The middle one all done:

Then the 2 side ones with the smaller Heart:

All the backgrounds are the same technique using texture paste, tissue paper, a road map (yes it is there under all the layers) and paint in loads of lovely layers!

You can see the artificially aged corrugated cardboard here.
I added a rough uneven layer of embossing powder on the hearts, and mica paint and silks in layers of luscious colour, in the background chippies.

Added some mini swallows to the outside canvases as a point of difference (and because they just happened to be on my desk at the time).

Really enjoyed trying to make everything look old, rusty and coppery, it is not totally perfect, but hey any more layers and it would have just looked muddy!

Each canvas is different in its own way but somehow they do work together.
I was pleased with the result but these photos do not show the depth of colour as the light around here has not been too kind (where is Summer?)!!

I have some more ideas rolling around in my head for more off the page work, the latest Scrap FX releases really are inspiring!! Check them out here.
Thanks for stopping by everyone and hugs to all those that leave a little love I truly do appreciate that bit of time that you have taken!!!
