Scrap Around the World Challenge

Hello All,
Just getting a page done just in time for the Scrap Around the World challenge for this month, I was very taken by the colour scheme of the fabulous moodboard:

And here is my take on it:

I tried to keep the page clean honestly! I was going for a minimal look for a change ......I like to test myself!

I have used Gelatos for the background colour with a gorgeous feather stamp from stampendous.

The little mini feathers are from Scrap FX that I have been hoarding, I painted them with gesso first then used the Gelatos as paint for the colour. I felt they were still a little flat so added some thick embossing enamel by Stampendous.

The title chippie is a newbie from Scrap FX, just love the simplicity of it!
The "Just Be..." I used an ink pad to colour then did the same technique on the feather as the minis. The YOU I used the mini alphabet by Scrap FX, it looked a little heavy/strong being flat black so I added the embossing enamel to lighten it up a little.

The splatters I made with some Izink acrylic Ink and then  doodled a little and I was done!

It was very hard to stop at that but I think I am getting a little better at knowing when to call the page done!
Thanks for stopping by and thanks Scrap Around the World for a fabulous mood board!

Shoot for the Moon!

Back again with another page created for Scrap FX using this new Phrase:
Isn't it just awesome? It really grabbed my attention as soon as I saw it!

I immediately thought of adding the stars and I tried to create the milky way in the background, using mica flakes and glitter.

I also used the new Alphabet Stencil:

Alpha stencil
and an old favourite the Circuit board stencil in the background.

I embossed parts of the Circuit Board Stencil after using texture paste through it, it is a little hard to see here but IRL it gives a great raised, rough texture in pale blues and grey.

I simply sprayed the alphabet stencil using a dark Lindy's Stamp Gang spray this gave a great shadow effect.

The Stars are from the Seeing Stars (Scrap FX) chipboard that have been embossed with thick enamel by Stampendous.

And that is all folks, hope you all get inspired and have a totally creative week!
Take Care out there!

"Life is ...." a little somethin' for Scrap FX!

Hi Everyone, I am a little excited over the new Scrap FX products this month and have had a load of fun playing!
There is definitely a bit of a school theme happening but I have used them in a little more "generic" way!
Anyway enough blathering here is the first Bit of fun!

These are the new products I have used:
The Alphabet stencil, Ruler Stamp, and the Math Matrix Chippy!
Alpha stencil         Math Matrix - Click Image to Close      Ruler stamp - Click Image to Close

There are some other bits and pieces used from the existing range too:

Word Set A Today
Word Set D Emotions
Speech Bubbles B

Are you seeing this people? I used Pink!!!!!
The stencil created some great texture with some light molding paste, then I sprayed with the only pink spray I own from Lindy's Stamp Gang!

Once again used a whole lot of embossing enamel to make those chippies pop!
The ruler stamp was a great addition to the background, and only had to Ink it up once.

And that is all folks! Stay tuned for the next page, may even have time to play along with a few challenges this month, any suggestions????
Thanks everyone!!

Kraft Plus Challenge sponsored by Scrap FX!

Hi All!
Just a little bit excited to be asked to guest design, as part of the Scrap FX Team, for the new challenge blog, Kraft plus. This months challenge is a sketch that I loved working with.
Scrap FX are sponsors this month so I can assure you
the prize pack will be simply fabulous!!! (a little biased I know!)
Enough random ramblings here is the Sketch and here is where you can find the challenge details

So the challenge required the sketch and some sparkle, here is what I created. I hope you get that I did use the sketch, I do tend to loose myself when I create so I did get a little off track, but I assure you I did have the sketch firmly in mind!

I had a hankering for a girly page so used this photo (from a recent wedding) of my nieces. Loved the print of their dresses, I did try to replicate the water colour look on the page.

The Scrap FX chippies I used are treated with embossing enamel from Stampendous, just cannot keep my hands off the stuff!

I did not want a solid gold lump of chipboard so I painted first then added the powder in random places then cut the pieces to spread over the page and create a balanced look.
I gessoed the background and used the random dots stencil to create a little texture.

The metallic sections on the background are created by stamping with a tacky glue then using gilding flakes....love this look but be warned it is sooooo messy! Those flakes are just so light they fly everywhere....I found myself holding my breath!!!

The colour I created by spreading a little Lindys Stamp Gang Sprays around, using a brush the spraying with water to create "drippage" trying to get that look on their dressses.

Take a peek I even used some glittery bits! I don't get to do that too often with the boys!!!

I attached the shiny bits with gel medium....those little suckers are not going anywhere!!!

So that is about it from me hope I have inspired!!!! Head over to the Kraft Plus blog and take a look at all the other fabulous Designers takes, I am sure you will be racing to your own scrapping corner to  create a up storm!!
