123 September Challenge

Back Again!

This is my LO for the 123 September Challenge. The requirements were: White, the word ON, and White Space (which I find kinda hard to do).
So Sorry
Out For Publication
 Will Be Back Soon

So here is my take,  the photo is of the boys but the subject is not warm and fuzzy due to the phase (I hope) they are going through right now!!! They are at each others throats 24/7 and it is driving me to distraction!!!!! Tell me this too shall pass!!!!

I tried to keep all the embellies white instead of using a white background (I do like to think out of the box). Aren't  the birds just too cute? They are new from (you guessed it) ScrapFX, as are the cogs, chicken wire and Alphas.

Splashed around heaps of paint as you can see, and added lots of texture with the fibre. I know not too much white space here, but that is just the way I seem to roll!

And the journalling says it all, I hope they get back in sync with each other before they send their mother batty. Thanks for looking and please add a few words to reassure a frazzled mother of angry boys that she is not talking to herself!!!!! TeeHeee things have got to get better I really liked my former happy place! I promise a happier LO next time!

"A Little Girly Shabbiness"

The latest inspiration challenge over at Lets Get Shabby is a great one!!!!! Attracted me right from the get go!
You have to draw your own inspiration from Tallulah Belles Etsy store. The images here are drop dead scrumptious, the hard part was choosing which fabbo image! So after much Ooohing and Ahhing (is that how to spell that? It looks just a little wrong! But you get it right?) I chose The Woodland Whimsy image:

So 'darn cute!!!! Such a warm vintage feel to it.

I used a photo of my nieces that my parents took while they were visiting recently (they Live in the USA), they had strict instructions to get some shots I could use for my girlie fix!
So here is what I came up with,  just love those colours! Still had the larger butterfly frame from ScrapFX so had to use it, just love the title that matches so perfectly!

Used my stash of Doilies straight from the local opp shop, the little old ladies must think I am wallpapering the house with them I have bought so many, and they now give me a discount!!!! (But I never take the change!!!) They are so sweet I don't have the heart to tell them I am cutting them up!

I love the excuse to use my doilie stamps they combine with the texture doilies so well (I am saying doilie far too much in this post!!!!)

The journalling all fitted perfectly on the tag that I coloured with some distress ink so it blended in a little better. No page lately is complete without a little bit if twine or string!
A close up of those gorgeous butterflies on the frame!

Painted the Title a few times till I got it right. Thank goodness the chipboard takes a lot of punishment without bending out of shape!
Lastly added a little cluster of left overs in the corner to finish the LO off!

It was awesome fun to do something feminine for a change and I think I am finding them easier with every LO I complete!

Till next time, take care,

Inspiration Challenge at "Get Picky"

A Big September Hello to All,

I Love Love Love Spring (except for the arrival of pesky hayfever) the promise of sunshine to come just makes me so much happier than the chilly Winter Blues!

In this frame of mind, I came across the inspiration Challenge over at Get Picky, it was so eye catching and summery. I had to break out of my "Boy Mode" and do something completely Girly (as Girly as I can be anyway, not a fan of pink). Being girly is not my Forte' as you all know but sometimes it is good to get out of the comfort zone (even if it does take you a week to get it right!!!!!). So here is the awesome inspration:

And here is the LO that took forever to do, I think this is because, in all my enthusiasm, I had no idea where I was going with it, I just knew I wanted to DO IT!!!!

I started by splashing a bit of paint around, and stamped with it as well to add to the distressed background.

Look! I even added some fussy cutting ...... of flowers!

Still have my button obsession, you don't know what it took to actually place that butterfly button on a page, I really thought I needed to bond with it more! (Does anyone else have this need to hoard embellishments? Please say yes and make me feel better about myself!)

Used this awesome frame from my friends over at Scrap FX, it is a new one and comes in 2 sizes this is the smaller one.
A Wordlet also from Scrap FX was just perfect with a bit of paint on it. I used those paint dabbers for the first time and they work a treat! Gotta get me some more of them!

A few more flowers and the job was done. It worked out a little busier than I wanted it to be but I am a girl that does not know when to stop I guess!

So, on to the next challenge, gotta'  go trawl the sites to find something that catches my eye!
Till then Spring Cheer to all,
