Art Journal Page for Artified

Hey everyone,
I am back with a journal page created for Artified.
I had a little play with the new Acrylic Art Sprays by Marabu.
These little bottles of colour are just awesome, so bright, beautiful and permanent!

These sprays are permanent when dry, they will not reactivate like other water soluble sprays like Dylusions. They are a flat colour spray so they can be used in combination with other shimmery mists  to create beautiful effects, I am going to play a little more with them to really discover how well that permanent property can work.
Here is the page that evolved from that play:

If you are interested you can see a step by step how I created the page HERE on the Artified Blog.

Do try and get your hands on some of these babies they are a heap of fun, and combine really well with all the other sprays in your stash. When I went in to grab these they were flying off the shelves!
Till next time, keep happy!

Whats in the box? for Artified.

A big Hello everyone, I am back with my first 2017 project created with a mystery box from Artified. It's a little something fun....and a little bit of a challenge!
As part of the Artified Design Team I received a little kit of goodies to play with, and to give myself a further challenge I decided to keep to these supplies as much as possible, to prove that you do not need much in the way of supplies to create with.
So lets get on with it shall we?......here is the mini kit I received:

The products included are:

I had to really put my thinking cap on for this one, as that colour was tricky (at least it was for me, kept looking like blood if I wanted any drippage!).
I wanted to stick with minimal colour palette and use supplies that everyone has in their stash.
So here is my creation using mainly the supplies sent with the addition of a few staples, like Gesso, stamps and washi tape.

And here is how I created it, I found breaking that blank page was the hardest thing to do, once I got going it came together easily and quickly....so much so I forgot to get a few picks for the step by step so apologies there....next time I think i should do a video!
Lets get on with it shall we....

  •  First thing to do was to coat the paper with a layer of white Gesso.
  • Then I tried to create a colour that was not so in your face....so to speak....so I added some white gesso to create a softer background colour then added it to the page and then sprayed it with water to move the colour around.

  • While still wet I added some Shapes to the background using the stencil and a fairly dry baby wipe to rub the paint back, revealing cool textures.

  • Then added a few splashes with the original Watermelon paint colour.
  • Next I added Black Gesso to some white Gesso to get a grey colour, and added some splashes to the page.

  • I then added a few of the circle shapes across the page with a sponge through the stencil ( and here is where I got a little carried away and forgot a few progress shots so I will try and talk you through it!

  •  The circles looked cool but I needed more interest so added some lines with a card in both Watermelon and the grey colours.

  •  Then it was time to scribble and make some marks with the Stabilo pencil, loved using the lines here.

  •  I added a piece of torn book paper across the middle of the page ready to add the main focal point.
  • I added a few cool dots using black gesso through the stencil and torn strips of washi tape  across the book paper to create a cohesive composition.

  • Oopsy once again got really carried away with the process, so here is what I did:
  • I stamped some Face images on the Deli paper making sure they overlapped a little, then stamped a third image on scrap paper and gave her a little rosy cheek using a watermelon gesso mix of paint. This image will be the main focal point to the page.
  • Using gel medium I glued the tissue images down first then the main face with the rosy cheeks.

  •  I used the pencil to add some scribbly details to the main image and more scribbles onto the background.
  • Using an alphabet stamp and the Watermelon paint I added the "SHE" words and more lines with a card.

  • I stamped some sentiments to add to the words on scrap paper, glued them down and added some pen work to highlight both words and phrases.

  • And so my page is done... a monochrome composition using supplies that most of you all have.
Here is the full list of supplies:

Dina Wakley Stamps: "Face in The Crowd"
Alphabet stamps.
Thanks so much for dropping by, cannot wait to see what the other DT girls create!
Till next time,

Art Foamy Play for Artified

Hey there everyone, back again to share a few art Journal pages I created whilst having a play with these fabulously fun Art Foamie Stamps from Artified. There are so many awesome designs it is so hard to just choose a few! So here is my little stash that I had fun with:

Cool designs I have to say, and some of them come with their own stamp buddy!
Now, I had never played with these before, so I was really interested to see what they could do.
The Stamp Buddy is not totally necessary, I used them a few different ways to really put them to the test. To tell you the truth if you have one large buddy that would do for all the smaller stamps, it could enable you to get a few extra shapes into your stash as they are a little cheaper with out the buddy.
Anyway let me get on with the show and tell.
This was the first page I played with.

I just threw some paint around for the background.
Then I used the stamp buddy the way the instructions advised, it worked well and I could stamp numerous images with one application. So your paint goes a long way!

I stamped images all over the place because I did not want to waste the paint on the buddy, then I found out you can store the buddy in a zip lock bag with the paint ready to use next time...awesome!!

I used 2 colours with the Ring Tic Tac stamp in the background, and just black paint for the Flowery Tree in the foreground.
Once you add the paint and rub it in you basically have your own personalised stamp pad and you use that accordingly to add the colour to the stamp, cool hey?

I used these stamps:
Flowery Tree
Ring Tic Tac

The next page I started with neon colours and loved using the Writers Block Stamp in the neon colours then black.

After a few more layers were added using Stencils and more stamped images, I decided to try a different way to add colour to the stamp. I used a brayer to roll gold paint onto the Water Lily design. This worked well to as long as you do not apply too much paint to the stamp, so this method seems to be a good alternative.
Here is the full page:

The gold was a little pale so I gave the image an outline in neon pink with a Pico Embellisher.

 The stamps I used:
Water Lilly
Writers Block

The next page was in my black Journal using Metallic Paint. There are a few layers here I went wild with the stamping on this one!
I used the stamps Gone Dotty, Happy Edge and Ring Tic Tac in the background building up the layers as I went.

Then I wanted a bold image so used the brayer method of adding paint to the Writers Block and Leaf Vine Stamps. The shimmer of the metallic background still shone through the open parts of the images.

I filled in details with the gold paint, and embellished away to finish the job!

So there you have it!
Take a look at all the fabulous designs at the Artified shop here, they are fabulous fun!!!
Until next time, thanks for dropping by!
