Once upon a Sketch September Challenge

Wow time flies! It certainly has been a while since my last post, but I am back for a quick show of my take on this months sketch over at
Here is the awesome sketch that really caught my eye:




The theme was "LUCKY" so I instantly thought of my nieces and the wonderful summer they are having while we shiver away in the southern hemisphere!
So without further rambling here is my take on that challenge:


Really got into girly mode with this one using my watercolours and a Crafters Workshop stencil to create the background. And with a little help by the embossing powder I managed to create some texture.



I have used some favourite chipboard pieces from Scrap FX coloured with ink pads and a touch of embossing powder to tie the elements together. 
So that is it for that challenge on to the next one!

    Looks fabulous. Again, your masking is wonderful and the splash of gold looks great.

    Michelle, beautiful layout. I love what you did with the water colour and stencil, it looks wonderful and the embossing powder makes lovely texture. Very sweet photo and I love the handwritten journalling.
