September Kraft Plus Challenge

Hey There,
back again with another challenge completed, this time for Kraft Plus
This month was a great sketch featuring a lot of triangle action.
So I thought I would give it a crack!

The whole reason I do challenges is to push myself out of my comfort zone and triangles really do my head in, I just don't find them easy to work with. So this challenge really pushed me.
Here is my take on that sketch, my boy dressed to impress for his very last school formal:

I used the Tricky Triangle chippie by Scrap FX, they fit the bill perfectly and made the challenge come together so quickly. All I did with most of them was add a coat of gesso then spray with a few Lindys Stamp Gang colours.

I embossed the background then added some colour with my old but new favourite plaything Dye Na Flow ink, just love the watercolour feel it creates, but stays put after heating, so you can layer to your hearts content.

The papers are by Basic Grey, an old favourite line, Persimmon.
Well thats it for me, till next time, happy creating,

SATW September Challenge

Hi All,
Back with a quick share, my take on the September Challenge at Scrap Around the World.
The Mood Board was just so inspiring I could not wait to create something just a little outside my comfort zone....soft, girly and pretty.
Here is the board:

Just so gorgeously vintage!
So here is my take using an old photo of my gorgeous niece!

I was inspired by the vintage feel of the board so changed the photo to sepia, I felt it worked better with my colour scheme.
This is my attempt at using flowers!!! As I do not have a wide range (actually very few) I made the flowers from some fabric scraps....I think I need to practice the art of clustering, this took me forever to be happy with it!
I so admire those that are cluster and flower artists!

I used a new Scrap FX stencil, "Single Damask" in the background, that is just perfect for the shabby look I was going for. I used Finnabair's Crackle Paste through the stencil and can I just say it is the most effective crackle paste I have tried, and believe me I have tried a few out, (actually ALOT). So it will now be my go to product for fabulous cracks!!
The colours I chose from my Lindy's Sprays.

Of course there is also a few chippies that make up this page, all from Scrap FX.
I used lots of embossing powders from Lindy's Stamp Gang and Stampendous.
So that is about all from me today!
Take care

Choose Happiness

Hi all!
Back to share a page I did a while ago but forgot to share!
I created this page using the tin foil and black Gesso technique I have used before to create the background.

After applying the foil over some texture created with tape etc, I painted a coat of black Gesso. Once dry, I sanded off (using a sanding block) the gesso in random spots to reveal the texture.

I then applied white Gesso both with a stencil and a brush. Once that was dry I splashed around Lindy's Starburst Sprays to add the colour!
The chipboard from Scrap FX was treated with embossing enamel from Stampendous, then I layered the papers from Kaiser, added some micro beads and thread.

So there you have it!
I am loving using black as a background...it creates a very dramatic look.
Thanks for dropping by!
